Winter Lentil Soup A lot of people don't know about lentils.  I didn't either until I was grown with a family of my own.  I cook a lot of bean dishes, both with meat and without, especially in the winter.  Soups and stews rock when it's cold outside.  With a loaf of fresh baked bread and butter, what could be better?  That was one night's dinner last week, lentil soup, cornbread, and fruit salad.

Finished this scarf yesterday, using a lot of leftover yarns in my basket.  Used #15 needles, so it knitted up in a couple of days using plain old stockinette stitch.  Length is 5-1/2 feet, just right for husband Gary.  He said it was so warm, he had to take it off once.  Most of the scraps are Lion Brand.  What I love about knitting:  I do it in the morning while I watch the Today Show for a

Unfortunately I'm still off the leg and on my butt as Thangsgiving draws nearer and nearer.  For the curious, I slipped and fell on the evening of November 12th at a restaurant.  Even more unfortunate, I fell on the knee that I'd broken in December 2000, and while my orthopedist says the fall did not injure the hardware inside the knee, it did pull a ligament, and I'm wearing an immobilizer,

Don't you love it when you come across something great you weren't expecting?  That happened to me today.  Eco Paper.  Incredible.  Sure, it costs more than a ream of cheap printer paper from WalMart, but think of it.  It's acid-free, lignin-free, and chlorine-free which I hadn't even known about.  When I saw the Banana Cover Stock Paper, I thought, wow, this would be good for scrapping.  Then

I registered New Year's Eve for Stacy Julian's LOM (Library of Memories) class on Big Picture Scrapbooking.  I have read and heard so many people say, "This class changed my life."  Some even said, "And I really mean it."  I read one girl's entire year's blog of her journey with LOM, and wished I could sign up immediately.  The problem is you can only sign up once a year in December to January.

When I read Ali Edwards' blog this week, I loved her "One Little Word 2010" and decided I wanted one little word too.
