Sunday night I watched the premiere of  ABC's new TV show, Once Upon a Time.  The programs I don't like on the tube heavily outweigh those I do like, so I was surprised that I got caught up in this reenactment of Snow White with some interesting--and humorous--side trips.

Yesterday I read on someone else's blog a review of a book I knew I wanted.  Just from the title.  Writing Motherhood, by author Lisa Garrigues.

I can tell you right now.  I love this book.  I got inspired just by reading the contents page.  And that's a good thing. 

Because I was about ready to turn in my Mom Badge.

You know, the one they pin on you the moment you realize you've conceived.

Downloaded a new Kindle book recently, Icing on the Cake, by Cynthi Rakes Bowden, which gives scrapbookers tons of page titles and novel sayings, in alphabetical order.  



So I pulled the book up when I created the layout of Sidney and found just the right words.  "A glass of

I got up yesterday later than I'd planned.  Instead of 4 am, the clock's digital reading of 5:30 jolted me out of bed.  Yikes!!  Kate and William were probably already hitched.

A good day to work on my Spring "Poppy Beanie," I've shown here several times. I'm working on the flowers now.  So far, I've created four and used my pearl pins to stick them various places until I get to the craft store to buy sequins and beads.  I kinda like the pearls though, yes?

So Women's History Month ends tomorrow, and I still have two ladies in waiting, so to speak.  

My geek son put new stuff on husband's computer, including Windows 7, which is the machine I use as a backup for many things.  Now I can't access the photos I need for my departed mother-in-law, Althea Allen Schmidt, nor my husband's greatly missed aunt, Fern Tanter Schmidt.

This is young, school-aged Dorothy Dean, just the way I remember her when I stayed at Grandma's upstairs three-room apartment on Clifton Avenue in Over-the-Rhine.  

I was fussed over and spoiled by this pretty young girl and her sister Clara.  I was taken to live plays in downtown Cincinnati at the lush Albee and Palace theaters.

Youngest granddaughter wants a Baby Alive.  When I got her, I couldn't find any decent baby doll clothes, and I wanted a cute Moses-type basket to carry her in along with her diapers and bottle, etc.  Also it's winter out there.  She was dressed  in a little flimsy sundress.  No shoes.

A digi layout of me and my beloved Grandma on Easter 1954.  The photo is pretty old and was stored in an old box where my Mom kept all of the pictures.  I do remember those pink shoes I wore that year.  The day after Easter I wanted to wear them to school, and Mom said no; they were for Sunday and dress-up.  I begged, and she finally gave in.  I was so proud of those shoes.

That said it all.

You didn't ask anymore.  That explained their mood.  Their behavior.  The funk.  The quiet.

Sometimes creativity made its way through where you'd least expect it.  That's how blues musicians are born.
